Overview

The new center, housed at the University of Central Florida’s College of Education, serves states and countries. The center was made possible by the generosity of John and Carrie Morgridge, philanthropists with a passion for supporting reading initiatives.
The center will be a collaborative effort that facilitates communication amongst professional educators, research scholars, parents, authors of children’s books and other stakeholders. The center will focus on enhancing literacy and teaching children to read well through the use of proven research and best practices.
The center also will assist with professional learning for teachers targeted at learning the most successful strategies in teaching children to read.
